| | SENSEX SURGES 464 PTS, IT GAINS OVER 4% Equity benchmarks surged to a 2-month high on Friday, wrong footing traders and flummoxing investors. Sensex closed at 18,815.64 points while Nifty ended at 5,654.25, up 131.85 points. IT led the rally with over 4% gains, while banking, capital goods and realty were up 1-2.5%. The reasons for today's sudden upswing can be short covering of positions, remorse buying or low depth which is exaggerating the price movement even for small orders. Yet, most experts are unable to make up their mind on where the market is headed over the next 3-6 months, given a host of macro economic concerns, both locally and globally. read more | | | | AT A GLANCE | BSE | 18815.64 | +464.9 | NSE | 5654.25 | +131.85 | TURNOVER Rs. 189,252 cr | BSE CASH Rs. 3,146 cr | NSE CASH Rs. 11,992 cr | NSE F&O Rs. 174,113 cr | | | BULLION | GOLD | 20886 | +40 | SILVER | 55779 | +312 | | | CRUDE | NYMEX | 102.25 | -0.08 | BRENT | 115.81 | +0.09 | | | FOREX | $ / Re | 44.665 | -0.09 | £ / Re | 71.728 | +0.06 | € / Re | 63.036 | -0.02 | | | EVENTS |

| "The key challenge for us here is really how you unlock these (regulatory) bottlenecks... Only when a tiger is awake and engaged can we appreciate its force and majesty. That is our challenge with India's creative sector: to imagine what this slumbering tiger might do in the right environment."
James Murdoch News Corp Chairman & CEO For Europe & Asia "When the Prime Minister addressed Mr Advani to suggest that the latter thinks it is his birthright (to become PM), I think he was addressing somebody else. Neither Mr Advani nor BJP believes in dynastic politics. Democratic parties elect leaders on the basis of merit and never accept the concept of birthright. It is only parties which work on the concept of succession talk of birthright."
Arun Jaitley Leader Of Opposition In Rajya Sabha "We have received replies from all 85 licence holders who were issued showcause notices. We are legally examining them and should be able to take a decision on it in a month's time."

To trade in stock market patient and greeds are a more important factor. Along with this two-factor Indian share broker selection is also very important for smooth trading.
