11 KILLED, 76 INJURED IN BLAST OUTSIDE DELHI HC
Terror struck Delhi when a powerful bomb blast ripped through a crowded reception area of the Delhi High Court today at 10:14 AM. At least 11 people have been killed and 76 others injured. The explosive device was suspected to have been kept in a briefcase outside the High Court compound between Gate No. 4 and 5. The blast took place in a high security area with the Parliament, the Prime Minister's Office and India Gate in the vicinity. Militant group Harkat-ul-Jihad Islami (HUJI), an Al Qaeda affiliate, in an e-mail sent to media houses claimed that the blast was carried out in retaliation to Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru's death sentence. It is the second time in four months that a blast occurred outside the Delhi High Court complex. read more
