| "I can certify that the provisions of the Lokpal Bill put forward by the Hazare team are Constitutional and I think it would be wise for the government to withdraw the (present) bill from Parliament and move a fresh bill after talking to Anna."
Shanti Bhushan
Co-Chairman, Joint Draft Committee, Lokpal Bill "International situation is not very favourable. Commodity prices are high, including of fuel. Therefore, the prices of industrial raw material, other commodities and fuels are uncertain. I hope the monetary policy adopted by the Reserve Bank, along with various measures taken by the (Finance) Ministry... it will be possible to have a moderating influence on the inflationary front."
Pranab Mukherjee
Finance Minister "Our revised forecasts show the U.S. and the Euro area hovering dangerously close to a recession -- defined as two consecutive quarters of contraction -- over the next 6-12 months."
