| | MURDOCHS APPEAR BEFORE BRITISH PARLIAMENT Appearing before a British parliamentary panel probing the phone hacking scandal, Rupert Murdoch said that it was the most humbled day of his life. British lawmakers today quizzed key figures in the country's phone-hacking scandal, seeking to uncover the extent of criminality at media tycoon Rupert Murdoch's now-defunct News of the World tabloid. Sir Paul Stephenson, the outgoing head of Scotland Yard, appeared before a panel of lawmakers on Tuesday as the phone hacking scandal involving the police, politicians and the media elite broadened and some of the most powerful people in British public life. The hacking scandal has mushroomed into Prime Minister David Cameron's worst crisis since his election last year.
