EXPERT VIEWS

"The kind of draft that they (Central Government) have presented (on GST)...I do not think it could be passed. Which state will agree to become a municipality or corporation? To hand over all the powers to the Centre and then beg before it for money is against the spirit of the Sarkaria Commission report."

Raghavji
Finance Minister, Madhya Pradesh
"The government is interested in keeping the CBI as a dishonest agency so that it can arm twist opponents and scuttle any investigation against their own people."

Arvind Kejriwal
RTI Activist
"In the last 13 quarters since the first quarter of 2008, consumer spending growth in the United States has grown an average annual rate of 0.5%. Never before has the American consumer...been this weak for this long. So something big is going on post-crisis and that's why I refer to them as the zombie generation."
