| | ANNA HAZARE 'SATYAGRAHA' ENTERS 3RD DAY The government's proposal that the new Lokpal Bill panel will have equal representation from civil society, but it will remain an informal committee, did not meet the approval of Hazare's supporters. The deadlock, therefore, continues though the government opened a channel of communication appointing Union Minister Kapil Sibal to negotiate with the agitators. The movement has gained momentum across the country. read more | | | | AT A GLANCE | BSE | 19591.18 | -21.02 | NSE | 5885.7 | -6.05 | TURNOVER Rs. 89,952 cr | BSE CASH Rs. 3,406 cr | NSE CASH Rs. 12,409 cr | NSE F&O Rs. 74,136 cr | | | BULLION | GOLD | 21217 | +51 | SILVER | 57905 | +197 | | | CRUDE | NYMEX | 102.25 | -0.08 | BRENT | 122.08 | -0.22 | | | FOREX | $ / Re | 44.11 | -0.05 | £ / Re | 72.018 | +0.28 | € / Re | 63.077 | +0.15 | | | EVENTS |

| "The timeline issue is not a big issue. We also want the (Lokpal) bill to be formed immediately. We have not agreed on Anna Hazare being the chairman. The civil society wants Anna Hazare to be the chairman. We will meet again tomorrow (Friday) morning. We have talked and addressed issues, only two outstanding issues have not been resolved."
Kapil Sibal Telecom Minister "Kapil Sibal is a senior advocate but his announcement cannot become law in the country. He has to put it on paper and make this legal. The movement wants him (Anna Hazare) to be a chairman. Anna Hazare wanted a retired Supreme Court judge to be the chairman. When we announced it to the civil society they wanted Hazare to become the chairman."
Arvind Kejriwal RTI Activist "If the Government does not listen to our demands then people will force this Government out of power. The 2G, Adarsh Society, Commonwealth Games and other scams got exposed because of the RTI. Now it is the time to put the culprits behind bars for which Lokpal Bill is necessary. My hunger strike would not end till the Bill is passed. This is a do-or-die movement."
