| | 2G SCAM: 5 ACCUSED TO REMAIN IN JAIL TILL APR 26 The Delhi High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the bail petition of the five corporate executives accused in the 2G spectrum scam till April 26. The bail applications of Swan Telecom Director Vinod Goenka, Unitech Wireless' Managing Director Sanjay Chandra and three top officials of Reliance ADA Group, Gautam Doshi, Surendra Pipara and Hari Nair, was heard by a bench of Justices Vikramajit Sen and Siddharth Mridul. | "In China's 12th Plan, exports do not hold the same place. Besides, the Chinese will be vacating the lower end of value spectrum like textiles and leather. So who will replace them? Are we going to step in or will it be Vietnam or Turkey or Indonesia... This is where our focus should be for the next five years."
Montek Singh Ahluwalia Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission "There is a growing feeling in the people that our laws, systems and procedures are not effective in dealing with corruption. We must recognize that there is little public tolerance now for the prevailing state of affairs. People expect swift and exemplary action and rightly so. It is a challenge that we must tackle boldly and we stand committed to doing so."
Manmohan Singh Prime Minister "Everything stinks (the manner in which the vilification campaign first went against (Anna) Hazare, then against Bhushans)... The anti-corruption crusade has unnerved some sections. Nobody expected Hazare to get the response he did."
